Welcome to the
Verizon Liberty Bell Pioneers Chapter #6 Website

Helen Joyce
Chapter President, Helen Joyce

We hope that our web site will help you understand what the TelecomPioneers do, and who we are.  Our Chapter has been in existence for 81 years and our members having been ANSWERING THE CALL OF THOSE IN NEED since then.  Liberty Bell Chapter encompasses in Southeastern Pennsylvania: the City of Philadelphia, Counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery, and the entire State of Delaware.  Our Chapter Office is located at 1631 Arch Street, 12th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Philadelphia is where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Liberty Bell is at rest.

We are always ready to assist our communities.  Some of our major projects are: Demonstration of 911 Simulator in area schools teaching the children to understand the “911” Emergency Number, painting playground maps on school playgrounds to assist the children with  their geography, electronic map which is a portable map that can be taking from classroom to classroom, hug-a-bears which are given to children who are involved with a traumatic experience, smart bears are distributed to children to assist them with reading a book that is placed inside a back-pack on the bear, heart pillows are given to hospitals for patients who have had heart surgery, building of handicap ramps, repair talking books for the blind, toy modification for children with a physical challenge, making cancer pads for area hospitals, crochet baby blankets and caps for the new-born children in our area hospitals, environmental, clean up and planting of trees at Valley Forge Nation Park, clean up Fort Mifflin on the Delaware, cooking dinners at Ronald MacDonald housing centers for families with children in the hospital and a Special Holiday Party for area nursing homes and physically challenged residence and the list goes on and on.

On this site you will be able to join over 9,300 active and retired Verizon employees as a member of our Chapter.  In this time of heart break and prosperity, the Pioneers have chosen to give back to our communities.  We hope you will join us.  You can find all the important contact numbers by checking on the Chapter and Council contact sites, on the upper left navigation bar.
